2nd part (up to 60')
Three more murders have taken place:
George the gardener

Dudu the maid

Henri the butler

Who is the killer?

Here is a fact-file about the first murder:

Name: Miguel Ostos.
Occupation: Chauffer.
The crime scene: Maria's bedroom.
Murder weapon: a gun.
At the crime scene we found: Maria.
This person seems / doesn't seem guilty because: she had the gun in her hand and it was still smoking.
Possible motive for the murder (your opinion): Miguel was sometimes violent with her. Perhaps it was self-defence.
Alibi: none.
Make fact-files like this for the next three murders and complete with any information you've got.
Who do you think is the murderer now? Why?

Dos and Don'ts when travelling abroad

Writing guide

This WS is based on a teacher's resource I downloaded a long long time ago. Unfortunately I can't find the link anymore! I have used the text as it was and created all additional exercises.

Here's what Marina L. wrote on the topic "Dos and don'ts when travelling to X" (where "X" is an imaginary country with rather peculiar customs...)

Coming to X for the first time? Well then you’ll have to keep in mind some things, if you don’t want to get embarrassed!

First of all, don’t ever scratch your head in front of people! Locals can easily get offended if you do this. It’s totally unacceptable.
Secondly, women are required to wear long skirts and not minis. If the authorities find a woman wearing a mini skirt, they’ll probably punish her by expelling her from the country. This rule also applies to men!
Thirdly, whatever you do, don’t ever eat popcorn at the cinema. The citizens of X keep everything clean and neat. They are extremely sensitive to dirtiness and to their mind eating popcorn at the cinema will bring about the disaster of Dirt! They’re always exaggerating.
Finally, the foremost rule that you should never break is that you mustn’t shake hands when you meet someone. If you do, they’ll start screaming for help, having the impression that you’ll hurt them. They’re scared of touching. Crazy, right?
